I believe most of these come with a 50 amp alternator. You can get a 65 that is a drop in replacement. Other than that the Bosch 115 upgrade makes sense - though you have to replace the connector.

Check your fuses. I have had the same issue on my 83sd. I believe it was #12 fuse that was blown. Had something to do with the kick down switch circuit etc. I don't recall the details.

If you have run WVO in the tank most of the crud would have been disolved by now. It acts similar to biodiesel in disolving it. Most likely you would have clogged your filters in the process.

Did mine a few years ago. I think long extension was used( even though sd is a little different). Heat the cool a few times. Add PB blaster when warm. Let me know if you need an impact wrench.

The WVO acts similar to biodiesel when it gets in your tank. It will loosen up all the built up crud from many years. It will eventually stop but you will go through many filters in the process.

Hopefully you are going to replace any leaking gaskets etc. while it is out and you have access. I would take care of the oil filter housing gasket at a minimum.
