That's what I was thinking. I think the system is pressurizing cause I can hear the fuel pump run but don't know for sure without a gauge. A bad ECU can be an on again off again thing. Am I right?

If you get power to the terminal at the pump but the pump doesn't run you got a bad pump. If you don't get power then check fuses, relay, pressure sensor etc.

Be aware that the fuel pump will run for about 3 secs if the engine does not start so it's a two man job. Someone cranks engine while the other listens to the pump or you could put a test light on...

My preference would be a small hand operated grease gun cause they're easier to use in a cramped space. Bend the tube almost to a right angle, that helps if you're on your back in your driveway.
