Question monowiper problem on c200-help needed!!C

my car is a 1997 C200( w202 chassis).

The monowiper does not go back to its resting position on switching off the wiper.

it comes to rest about 5 inches above where it should be hence...

i finally tracked down the fault-one of the rear tail light bulbs had blown and was causing the dash warning light to trigger on.

I had a look with the fuel flap open and lo and behold the lock rod does not come out from the little hole!!
You hear a "thuttering" kind of noise but the flap ddoes not lock-i gues u learn...

i have the exact same problem on my merc c200 w202 1997 car.

i will use wd40 lubricant spray that we get here in the u.k. to see if it cures the problem and post the resutlt on here

you could remove the drive belt and the spin the pump pulley to check if it is noisy

on examination-the old rotors(discs) did look warped

all the wheel vibration in the steering wheel only when braking has completely gone-so...
