Sounds like you need to do some more reading. “Blowing the system out with air” will do nothing except introduce further contaminants.

It still has a 3.07 diff. If I put in a 2.65 like in a W211 CDI, I would probably see better numbers.

Looking forward to seeing this. I have an 83 300TD with an OM648 and a 722.6 (PSC TCM-2800 standalone controller). You'll have a lot more room to play with given that you're using a 5 cyl.
