Thanks Leathermang,

I replaced the T-stat and viola! It is fixed! Normal operating temps and heat hot enough to toast your toes.

Anwer this!

How many temp senders are there on a 300SD Turbo engine? I removed the wire to a temp sender(rearward) and the gauge quit but there is another thingamajig (forward) on the head that looks identical...

I am really inclined to think...

that it's the T-stat. I am going to replace it in the morning. I feel confident that if I can get the engine temp up to normal that my heat system will be fine.;) :eek: :confused:

I don't seem to see anything that resembles a pump under the turbo area. I have an aux. pump at the firewall just to the right of the monovalve contraption. At least I think it's an aux. pump. It has...

I will check the aux. pump. Could it be the aux. pump even if I have the same temp heat at highway speeds AND at idle?

South Carolina. Temps today were around the 60F but the 300Sd wouldn't get above 60C. That just ain't right!
