Injectors don't last forever. They can "dribble", inject too much fuel,develop a bad spray pattern or inject fuel too soon...all having an effect on fuel mileage/power. About every 100K they should...

1984 300D with 350K+ miles on the odometer...

1984 300D with 350K+ miles on the odometer checked twice doing mostly highway driving...31 and 32 mpg. I think a car with only 150K would see some improvement in mileage as the engine "loosens" up...
