Short life... elvis is gone.
My father passed away just after new year and my mother gave me the family minivan. I had to sell one or two cars, and so "elvis" as the wife dubbed the classic 1970 280SE was put on CL last night. People were fighting over it, and it sold today. One person made an offer I accepted that was the asking price and then another arrived and offered more while the first was traveling to the bank to get $. A third asked me to hold the car until he could drive from across the state and he would buy it for well above the asking. I honored the handshake deal I made even when the second group was trying and trying to place the money in my hand. They had called first and said they would buy the car for asking then offered a bit more. It was a good problem to have, and now my wife is happy. Of course I wish I did not have this problem, which really goes back to not needing the car because my father passed away and I ended up with a newer minivan. I certainly loved driving the car and will be searching for another classic.
