We need more members like DIESELGIANT!!
I am no know it all despite years of working on these engines, I'm more of a hardworker (with a terrible memory) who depends on this Forum HEAVILY!! I would like to thank DIESEL GIANT who probably gave me a $1000 of information on how to
1. Flush my AC 2. Fix my Odometer 3. Do my rear axle boots 4. At least 2 or 3 other repairs.. Last edited by Carrameow; 06-19-2006 at 08:43 PM. |

Carrameow, did you have access to the boot spreader to stretch the boots over the joint?

BTW I solved my problem. My odometer is inaccurate. It didn't work at all until I fixed it last month with the DieselGiant method. I checked it against a known distance tonight and it turned out to be like reading 80% actual mileage. That scared me! At first I thought it was an engine problem!!! Actually my mileage is great! |

I'm interested to know what my odometer accuracy is as well. I better do some checking.

Thanks for the kind words! I am so thrilled anytime others use the info to save $$ and do the work themselves. I want to keep as many of the MB's on the road as possible and the key is to do the repairs yourself and save money.
I only whish I had gotten the MB "bug" 20 years earlier.

I agree. He put a lot of hard work and effort to put those tutorials up.

Agreed
I agree. Dieselgiants info (and the rest of this forum as well) was part of what convinced me to stick with my convictions and get a 240D after five years of uncertainty. Thank's DG.

DieselGiant Is The Top!
Greetings! To your statement of, "We need more members like DIESELGIANT!!",
I say, "Here, Here!" "Bravo!", and "Right On!!" When anyone extolls the goodness of DieselGiant, I won't hesitate to jump on that bandwagon! The pictorials he so graciously provides are invaluable. And, they're free! When I first approached him for assistance in troubleshooting the glow plug system on my 190D, he did not have a pictorial on the system at that time. He responded immediately to my plea for assistance, and did not delay in undertaking the task of installing a glow plug system pictorial on his site; and he did it in two days! DieselGiant evokes the mindset that humans had in a time past, and we should all follow his example and spread the kindness. My thanks to you, Carrameow, for honoring him with your post; and, "Thank you, thank you, DieselGiant, for what you tirelessly do - you are most special." Sincerely, Michaela 1984 190D 2.2 |
