'92 500e -- $8000 -- NOW $7250
I’m reluctantly parting with my '92 500E. It now has just over 256,000 miles (yes 256k). I have owned the car for 18 months / 13,000 miles and it's been nothing but pleasure.
It's pearl black w/ black leather, not new but in great shape and above average for a 15-year-old car -- even by Mercedes standards. Everything functions, as it should with a properly maintained car. Previous owner owned the car for 160k/6-1/2 years and had all the regular service done. Among other things had the timing chain and rails, crankshaft seal replaced and had the power steering pump, rear shocks/cells, brakes rebuilt just to mention a few things. I replaced the engine wiring harness last month and have not had to do much more than change the oil and grin when I drive it. Has H&R springs front and back, K&N filters, '94 tail lenses and clear corners. At this price it sits on 16" aftermarket rims with Kumho tires. (Instead of the 18" AMG's I've had on it) Alpine 6-disc cd changer that is controlled thru the factory Bekker radio/cassette. Anybody looking at it on this site knows what a 500E is, will gladly answer any questions. Now with 260k! Needs new tires. I'm looking to move on to something different. New lower price -- $7250. Would consider delivering for a reasonable price.

My question is completely unrelated to your sale, because I don't want a 500e, but I've always been curious - what do those things get for mpg on the highway? Do you know?

It's an M119 motor:I haven't seen one with over 200k miles, no doubt they'll keep running if you keep an eye on the t-chain and rebuild the heads.
