I don't know how many out there are like me, but I get soooo confused when I read, "W-this and R-that". All I know is my own model W201 (190E); throw in the engine numbers and that's more confusing. Is there a way [BILL WOOD] that someone can put together a simple cross-reference chart with pertinent chassis (i.e.- W201 = 190E/D 1984 - 1987) and engine information (i.e. - 102.985 = 2.3-16V 1986 - 1987)? Also, it would be nice if that info were one click away so we don't have to search to get the info? I enjoy reading about other's rides, but many times don't know what they own because I don't understand the "W" numbering of their chassis.
Thanks! Brian |

Brian:
Check out the following: http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Downs/9323/index2.html It has W chassis codes, upholstery and paintwork codes, Options codes, and MB Tech expressions, along with a lot of other neat things. It is several clicks away, and it would be really cool if it were a pop up button at the left, but probably a fair amount of work. Hope this helps. ------------------ JCE 87 300E, 65k miles Smoke Silver [This message has been edited by JCE (edited 08-22-2000).] |

Here's one of the best sites I've seen for showing the various models. It takes a while to download but it's worth it.
