Someone at Peachparts is not doing their job or is not competent. If this reflects on how Pelican Parts carries out business, why would we deal with them?

Maybe we can get through to someone at PP who can take action?

I posted this in the DD forum also

According to the bottom of the DD window there are 2 moderators listed.

JimSmith and vstech

JimSmith's last activity shows to be 10-29-2016 so I would say he's left the building.

John (vstech) I know him personally, since he lives up in Charlotte about an hour from me and helped me get my 123 and 124 running.

When his father passed a few years ago, he inherited his father's one-man HVAC business, and he probably doesn't have the time to watch over the forum like he used to.

John was last on the forum 2-22-2021 so he's been coming around but not since when this latest storm of spam came through.

I agree that we need new moderation so that we can keep this resource going. I would throw my hat in the ring, anyone else wish to step in?

John, if you happen to see this and you agree, could you put one of us in contact with the site ownership about transferring the mod duties?

More spam has inundated the Diesel Discussion Forum. We've got people here who are willing to moderate. Why not let them?

people have fallen victim to these scammers who join and post in EVERY single WTB post.....people have lost real money because there isn't a more effective method for validating new accounts or 'hard stop' rules for posting in classifieds

PEACHPARTS is a dangerous website

Its obvious the website is gone to the dogs, er scammers!
I have a friend in the IT biz who deals with stolen accounts, hacked accounts, scammers and the like all the time.
He said the first problem he saw when he went to look at an ongoing post I sent him from a scammer that uses numerous monikers on Peachparts was the warning he got:

Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.peachparts.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). Learn more
NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID
Subject: peachparts.com
Issuer: Go Daddy Secure Certificate Authority - G2
Expires on: Sep 21, 2023

More coming after my next meeting to discuss this.

Current date: Nov 20, 2023
