Cruise control quit

I was driving home tonight and my cruise control didnt work on my 97 e420. I use it probably everyday and never had any problems before. Has this happened to anyone? I tried doing a seach but I didnt find much. Any suggestions on where I should start looking for the problem???

Check your brake lights, sometimes the brake contact gets bad and causes the CC to not work.
