Reliability of 1995 E320

Hello,

I am looking to replace my 1990 300SE that has 227,000 on it with a 1995 E320 with 80,000 miles.

How does the engine/trans hold up in these cars? Was there any issues with the 95 models?

What are things I should look for beside body work?

Thanks in advance

Engine wiring harness and head gasket

Two big ticket items.... engine wiring harness and head gasket. If you do a search on this website on these two items you'll get plenty of information.

Don't let these items dissuade you from buying an otherwise fine automobile. Both issues can be completely resolveable. This is just info to help you make an informed evaluation on your future purchase.

Kestas,
thanks for the info. Wire harness is not a big deal just the cost of it. The headgasket is a whole other animal. I did a search and I guess there is gasket issues with both the M103 and M104 straight 6. I always thought the M103 would last forever. It would in my car but the rust is starting to take her.

Thanks
Dan
