2000 s430 cant believe
hi guys my 2000 s 430 has a problem with shifter assmbly yesterday i parked it and the transmission got stuck in P NOW I BOUGHT THE WHOLE PART AND REPLACED IT but do i need to take him to the dealer to get it reprogrammed coz i cant understand it i haev already waisted three days and after spending 500 for the part i m still no where

You are gonna have to take it to the dealer for the 220 vehicles. The ESM
(Electronic Selector Module) on 220 is part of the "anti-theft" system and is "married" to the vehicle. The dealer needs to use the SDS to "unlock" the ESM and marry it to the vehicle. If it was another chasssis (for example a 210) you would not have this problem. Good luck. |
You should probably bring in the old part as well when you go. I'm a little hazy on this, but it may be one of the modules you need to copy the version coding from one and then "download" that information into the new one.
