Chain Tension - 420 SEL

I just popped the left (dirver's side) valve cover off a 1989 420 SEL that has 230K KM. I noticed the chain was a bit loose and could slap against the plastic guide and the head. This is occurring on the top. On the bottom, the chain seems snug. Is this normal?

The chain and tensioner were changed about 14,000 KM ago.

Is there a way the chain tension can be adjusted?
