1998 E430 Vibration in reverse

A deep organ note of a vibration has developed when I put my 98 E430 (95k mi) in reverse on a cold start at rest. It lessens when I move in reverse and disappears completely after the car is warmed up subsequent to freeway driving. Any insight as to what the problem is or how serious? Car drives fine in all other respects. Thanks for your help.

Thanks so much. How big a job is this? What would parts and labor be?

Thanx again.
