Which Transmissions Fit?

Hi, just wondering which model transmissions (772....) fit my 1990 300E 2.6L. Are they interchangeable with the 3.0L engines? Also, how difficult would it be to convert to a manual transmission? Has anyway done this? Thanks for your input.

Sorry, can't help w/ specific tranny numbers, but I do know that both the 300e 2.6 and 3.0 use the m103 engine, and therefore the transmissions will mate up no problem.

Hanno just did a auto>manual conversion on his 300e, you might want to track him down for more info. I'd suggest to get the whole car, if possible. At the very least, you'd need the tranny, clutch assembly (pressure plate, friction disc, throw-out bearing), clutch/brake pedal assembly (including clutch master and slave cylinders and fluid resevior), manual trans flywheel, manual trans driveshaft, possibly a different cruise control coder and AC relay.

I'm sure other members have also done similar operations and can provide more info.
