W210 96-99 vs. 00-02 headlights - Xenon
 

I just got a great deal on xenon headlights off ebay ($240, including shipping).
Problem, they are for a 2000-up car, and I have a 97.
How hard will it be to make the headlight fit?
I know there is a way to do it . . .

The lights won't fit.

The 2000 and up are the "face lifted" cars. Basically the entire front end is different.

Yes, but the headlights are the same dimensions, only with different locations for the fasteners. Well, I'll have to see.
Worse, I'll sell them and make a profit.

I recall seeing somewhere (can't remember where now) that the lights from a W211 will fit (with light mods) the W210, and the "late" W210 lights will fit the "early" W210 cars with light mods.

I saw a pic of an early W210 with the lights from the W211, and they looked very nice.

In this case, I think I should manage to make it work.

Well,
it did not fit. So I removed the reflectors from the xenon headlights and transferred them to the halogen headlights.
I have xenon, with the right reflector but the wrong lens. Not sure it matters. I am debating whether to get the xenon lenses from bekkers.
