The easiest sale you'll ever make is to a Salesman.
He wants to Believe!
"Turbonator " (or whatever they call it this week) Is just as effective as wearing a "Beanie with a Propeller" whilst driving. "Snake Oil Medicine" See famous Quote attributed to Samuel Clemens, ("A fool born every Minute") |
I am not sure this gizmo will give you 35HP but I can promess you'll be had for $69.95 if you buy one. Their add is very conservative. it will save so much fuel your tank will overflow. Exxon will be put out of business and OPEC will start playing cards.
It also comes with mustard and onion (optional). You can also install one of those gizmo backward in your exhaust system. It is said to cure hemorrhoids. Save your hard earned cash and don't get cought by those idiots. JackD |
I think a beanie with a propellor is the best idea. ;)

Notice there is no picture of the product on the website. I saw a TV news expose on it and it's a POS chromed plastic fan thing that sites in the air intake tube and supposedly spins via the air flow - if anything it would restrict overall air flow to the engine.

I watched a TV commercial on this gazmo. It's a stainless circular insert that has perforations/slots punched into the circumference and some flap-like pieces that are attached to the inside. It supposedly works by massaging the airflow through the intake snorkel, has no moving parts, and looks to me like something I could make in my shop on a Saturday morning with about 1 sq ft of stainless stock and some tin snips and punches. Of course, that would require a pattern to duplicate the 'patented' slots, which explains the lack of a clear picture on the internet. If anyone has a picture, please post so we can all make one up and start saving big $$ in our Benzes.
BTW, here's a similar product that makes outlandish claims too. The installation instructions say 'wear work gloves when installing' (so your fingerprints don't get on it and someone can prove you were the gullible idiot who bought one?) and 'keep away from children' (so they don't laugh in your face after you explain how it works?). |
Snake oil, just like all of the light your car on fire wax's and my favorite Z-max.:D Their is a lot of suckers our their, even Mercedes cash's in with their own line of cleaning products.

Don't forget the brand that started it all...SLICK 50. Sounds like the name of a Pimp, and you wouldn't be far off considering what the company does to you. Read up! http://www.chris-longhurst.com/carbibles/index.html?menu.html&additives.html |
Don't forget the Spiral-Max
From their AD The feeling is dramatic and instant, most drivers experience it on the first drive around the block. It will work with any internal combustion engine, gas or diesel. SpiralMax Ū, is a computer designed non-moving part that swirls the air, and vaporizes the fuel for near complete combustion, maximum efficiency, doing what the engine was designed to do. OMG gas or diesel! Says to just stick in my carburator throttle body on my SDL  Spiral-Max |
The Super Fuel Max looks easier to install and their add sounds more impressive:
The Super FuelMAX operate on the principle of magnetic frequency resonance. Using super-conductors made of a formula of Neodymium blend (NdFeB37), which is covered by worldwide patents, the Super FuelMAX creates a specific resonance that breaks apart hydrocarbon chains and makes combustion more efficient. The result is lower pollutants and piston friction reduction, thereby increasing gas mileage up to 27% FuelMAX it's only $49.58 :p |
I seem to remember from my hot rodding days (about 6 months ago) that the best way to get performance is to get unrestricted, airflow into the combustion chamber as smoothly as possible. This is the main reason for porting and polishing heads. If unrestricted air flow is the way to get performance why stick a pinwheel in the intake tube? :D
