Thumbs up You have to consider these tires! Kumho ECTSA

I'm running Kumho Ectsa KH-11 Grand Touring Summer tires on 16 inch wheels on my 300E. These tires are awesome, especially considering the price ($72 per at Tirerack.com!!). These are a VERY underrated tire made in Korea. They are very quiet, crisp handling, and have better wet traction than the all season tires I had on before. In the wintertime I switch back to the stock 15" wheels with Michelin Artic Alpine studless snowtires and drive on thoes for about 2.5 monthes out of the year. I was very happy with them last winter when we had much more snow than usual here.

Bottom line is I am very happy with this combo, and I can't say enough good things about the Kumho tires....did I mention how inexpensive they are?

Try these

Running Kumho's Ecsta 716, with no regrets. Great tires overall, good traction and, most important, silent. Cannot believe I paid just $40 apiece.

BF Goodrich T/A at Sam's Club. Why? I would've bought them at Tire Rack but, couldn't wait. Needed them right there and then. $10/mounting anc balancing and free hazzard warranty helped. Treadwear rating was better than the Yokohamas previously that, lasted only 2 years. 205/60HR15 on a 1992 400E this time instead, of the 195/65VR15. Came out a little expensive around 3 bills ballpark for everything. Had a slow leak just three months ago. Fixed , remounted, and rebalanced. Don't work for Sam's but sometimes it is convenience that matters the most.

17" Michelin Pilot Sports on SL500

Tried Toyos and had to return them. Never could get rid of resonance at 35, 70, 105MPH

The Pilots are pretty good tires and seem to be getting better with age. I'm hard on equipment and these tires handle it under any condition.

I have Falken Azenis 235/45/17 on my 98 E320 Wagon. They are the quietest performance tires I've ever owned. I will be replacing the 225/40/18 Dunlop 9000's on my wife's BMW with Falkens also. I've had five sets of Falkens over the last 15 years and loved every one. I've had several Dunlops and give them mixed reviews. Additionally, I've had three sets of Michelins and disliked them all. I live in Tucson, it never snows and seldom rains.
