Slk 230
Hello:
I have a 1998 SLK 230. While driving it, the check engine and brake warning lights came on and the car would not shift out of low gear. This problem repeated occasionally and at times the car would perform normally. My mechanic changed three variable speed sensors but the problem did not go away. He is changing the 4th and last VSS and hopes this is the fix. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks from Guam! |

You need have codes scanned from the traction system, trans computer, & the engine to diagnose the problem! Could be as simple as a brake lamp switch!! Don't waste money replacing parts with-out using a scanner on all 3 computers!
