need answer to stupid question!

heres a real easy one, i just havnt found it yet.... i have an 86 420- recently bought it- its low on trans fluid- i need to top it off- can i add regular atf or does mercedes take some special spec product??

Dexron III is the stuff. It's the most commonly stocked ATF in auto parts stores these days.

I concur. Dexron is what you use.Type F is for old Fords and type A hasn't been available for 30 years.

Next fluid change try synthetic, Dextron III compatible.
