Strange problem with S500

car: 1995 s500 sedan w140

Hey guys.

Today I started the car up after 5 days and when I started it up it wasn't making a full start... it made a funny sound during the startup... I was on the road on a left turn light to get into sams club and the left side of the car was shaking strangely (felt like a very loud sound system shaking the car) but I have no idea what it was....anyways I pull into sams club and put the break and the car shuts off???? I turn it on...accelerate a little and it turns off again... gave it some rest and turned the car on for 5 minutes before starting on the road again....seems fine now...

any idea as to what this could be..I know it could be a million things but just curious... car has 119,000 miles on it.. thanks..any help would be appretiated...

Strange problem 500s ...

Sound like like you were loosing fuel pressure somehow??

I know when you have low fuel pressure the car will and can stumble shake miss have no power , etc.......... you get the picture.... take a look under the car with a flashlight and see if you see any wet looking spots aorund the fuel tank/pump area. I have seen leaky fuel lines from the fuel pump to filter to main lines leak and cause erratic starts and stumbling under loads..

Or it could be a 100 other things but the ECU diagnostics should have picked something up if it were a sensor or malfunction in the ignition...

I know that the older Mercedes were famous for fuel pumps locking up when the car sat for long periods of time..... Dave
