Water pump replacement
 

Planning on replacing a water pump on a 95 (124) E300D (606). I've done this on other vehicles but never on this model. What tools can be used inplace of the MB special tools for the clutch fan removal and belt pulley? The work order calls for placing the #1 at TDC before removing the TDC sensor and noting the line up. Can't the sensor be marked as it sits relative to the crank without rotating the whole deal? I plan on replacing the belt and tension shocks - any other prudent things to address while I'm there? Thanks
