300TE Engine Ground
ok guys, I am getting close now .............................
I have replaced my head gasket, engine mounts, and a few other parts, and now that I am ready to start my 300TE, its dead! I did notice that a braided thick wire which goes from the chasis to transmission got broken, perhaps when I was replacing the engine mount? (This is located in the vicinity of the starter)................. It looks like a ground wire? Is this why she will not turn over? All the electrical seems in tact, except, when I turn the key ............ I get nothing? Thanks - William |

Yes, that is an engine ground wire. Could very well be your issue.

The engine is not grounded (except through the shifter linkage if both viton bushings are gone) without the strap.
Replace it, you need the connectors on both ends in good shape for the starter to work. Peter
