Front and rear pads and rotors replaced now ABS light comes on??

Had the work done and this morning on the way to the office the ABS light came on. Anybody have any ideas what could have happened while changing the pads and rotors and sensors to cause that to happen?? Brakes appear to be working fine.

The wheel bearings might be too loose on the offending side. They could have damaged or altered the position of the speed ring versus the weel speed sensor. Does the light go out when you restart and come on once you move?

It came on this morning but did not come on on the way home this evening. I was in the garage when they had it up on the lift and personally checked the play on the wheels just to make sure the bearings were good and got no movement.

How did you break in the pads?

New pads won't work very well until you wear the "fur" off the operating surfaces (100 miles or so in city driving). This can result in much better braking on one wheel than on the others for a short time, and that will trigger the ABS.

Make only gentle stops until you get solid pedal (it will be a bit soft to start with) to prevent groaning brakes later on.
