Original car alarm goes off when unlocking and opening doors; alarm system remains armed and does not permit car to start. The only way to disconect alarm is opening the car using the trunk lock.

Do I have to get the tumblers from the dealer at a higher price?, can I get the parts and have an indepemdent shop replace them? Any ideas. Thanks

If you want to get the original key and tumbler you have to order a new one from the dealer. Give them your vin# and they will order it for you. Around $200. You may try to clean the contacts inside. Easy to replace. Get the CD for your car, you will get your money back with this project only!!!
Do a search on the subject. Good luck!
