Euro Spec 500SE Problems

Hi, I am new to the board. I work in Italy for the Army Corps of Engineers and just purchased a 1987 500SC with only 92,000Km. It is in very good condition except for a couple of minor issues. This is my first Mercedes so I know nothing about them. I paid $2,500 for the car.

High idle, seems to be an issue as I have read postings about it before posting here. I pulled what I believe to be the idle control valve and it ohmed at 4.2 ohms. It is getting voltage at the pin, started at around 12 and dropped as the car got warmer to about 4 volts. When I had the valve out I applied 12 volts and the solnoid clicked but I did not try applying 12 volts when the car was running as it got too dark outside. I also lightly cleaned the valve with some carb cleaner but did not soak it. Can it be dismatled to clean or just soak it? Car still idles high and drops when the A/C is turned on.

I have attached a picture of the engine and the valve has the blue plug on the right. I also noticed another device just to the left of it (near the 4 hoses). What is this? It has no voltage going to it and I have not removed it (yet).

My second problem is the vacum pump for the door locks. It is in the trunk and I pulled it out and used a Mytivac to check the locks and all good. I opened the pump control module and found a burned solder track. I imagine the pump shorted and burned this. What do these pumps cost new (or used), any idea?

The pumps are fortune new, if I recall corectly MB wanted over $400 for my 190e. I found one at a salvage yard for $25 and it has worked great for 2 years.
