1997 E420 HVAC PBCU Fault Code
 

1997 E420, 110K miles - compressor and clutch functional but A/C performance degraded. Fault code query of the PBCU reveals nothing listed once the "Automatic" button is pushed. Pushing the button again then reveals "E61" on the left, a blower motor icon in the middle and "232" on the right of the PBCU screen. Clicking the "Automatic" button for the third time then reveals "E" and "FF"

Can't find "E61" in M-B HVAC service literature. Anyone have any info on this?


Inspecting the actual system values reveals a evap. temp of over 59 deg C, suggesting a faulty temp sensor.
