W123 (1984) AC parts list...
First, my system was an original R12. I nearly swapped over to 134A but after readin' here, seems that it's not a good idea is the consensus here!
I did some searching and have a semi-list of parts needed... New compressor, R4 style. Rebuilt is junk. New dryer/accumulator New hoses New expansion valve Aside from that, what am I missing? I plan to flush the system and evac it. All new o-rings. My bud has the EPA cert paperwork so I won't get price gouged on my R12 thankfully! Is the condensor mkay to flush out since it's been sitting? Where is the best place to get these hoses? |
I always replace the shrader valves because they are cheap ..
Pressure switch on the dryer You should be able to find a local shop to rebuild the big diameter hoses.. Condensor to dryer and dryer/evap are cheap. For a W123, I think it's a wise decision to stay R12. Make sure the radiator fan is working... Michael |
Ideas on how much less it'd cost to rebuild those hoses as opposed to purchasing new ones?
Does a new dryer come with that pressure switch? I wanna only do this once... :D |
Why are you replacing all these components? Did you have catastrophic compressor failure? Are your hoses leaking?
Have a great day, |
