ML-320 Child Safety Seat

We have a child safety seat mounted in the 2000 ML-320 in the center rear position.

Center belt is lashed down tight to hold the seat in position as well as the tether over the back into the safety clip behind the seat.

Could this cause SRS light to come on from time to time. I'm not clear on how the seat sensors works or if there are seat sensors looking for body weight.

Can someone explain please.

Thanks

The sensor is in the right front seat. If a Babysmart compatible child seat is used in the right front seat it deactivates the passenger side airbag. I don't think anything you would do or use in the rear position will affect the SRS light, so you need to have the codes read to see what the fault is.

The Babysmart seat only deactivates the front passenger airbag. I thought that it should (would) work on the side impact airbags in either the front or back but it doesn't. A case of high-tech solution followed by poor application and implementation ala the MBZ phone systems...

Oh well, at least my baby looks cool in his MBZ seat :~)
