Please help my 208 CLK55, rain water is leaking in & flooding driver's side floor!
 

Please help my 208 CLK55! While parked on a level surface(windows fully closed), a heavy rainstorm caused flooding of the front driver's side floor area. The carpet and foam rubber backing were soaked, and any advice as to the possible source of the leak and a solution for fixing it would be greatly appreciated. I also need information for safely removing the trim(kickpanel, door sill and brake pedal, etc.) that is holding down the carpeting. Thanks!

my BMW 2002 had a laek >> after 20+ years >> hte rubber loses it flexibility > hardends and water will find a way through

you migh try to checkit by having someone hose down the windshield while you look inside >> may/may not work >> anyway my money is on the windshield gasget

Thanks, I will plan on doing that ASAP! Any info on removing the kick panel and door sill. I'd also like to remove the cowl screen?

Check Than The Plenum Chamber Below The Windscreen And Its Drains Are Free From Leaves And Rubbish. They Block Up And Water Overflows Into The Cabin.

I took the leaf screens off the cowl, but the air intake area was shallow and I couldn't see very deep? Any pics or greater explanation of what to try would be appreciated. I also climbed underneath and only saw a few small drain holes that appeared to be open. Still haven't figured out how to remove the door sills and kick panel yet. I pulled on them pretty forcefully, until I was afraid they would be damaged!

As far as I know the door sills snap into place. Not sure how to pry off without damaging the paint adjacent to the sill. The local MB dealer's Service Department replaced the driver's door sill in our 1998 E320 which they damaged while removing the driver's seat to repair the track. So it must be fairly simple to DIY. Try asking at a local bodyshop that works on MB cars.

Thanks, I tried pulling on the sills and they felt like they were going to bend(I think they're aluminum) but they didn't release yet?

There are a couple of cowl screen fasteners between the cowl and the inner firewall(the wall between the engine and the cowl plenum) that are impossible to release without a special or fabricated tool, any suggestions?

Dealer said it was the left rear sunroof drain. Hard to believe so much water could leak past the outer seal and overcome the remaining three drains.
