92 mercedes 300E Climate Control

Hi I noticed that some buttons on the climate control are real dim with the lights on. Are there separate bulbs on each of the buttons? Do you have to remove the wood grain cover to get to the bulbs...if you do does anyone know the procedure for doing it? Thanks Rebe
