Dash Cap Removal

1986 300E

Will need to remove the dash cap (top) to install a new one, what I need is a how to instructions.

Also I have read the threads on complete dash removal, do I have to do all that just to replave the cap.

190e 2.6 Needs heater core and flex disc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
