A dealer can get you some history along with any factory authorized rework, original specifications, and new keys.
There is an organization called CarFax in the US, but I don't believe it would recognize your vehicle unless it was originally imported into the US. You might also try your auto licensing authority (whoever that is) as they may have records of accidents, etc, or could at least tell you who might. I'm fairly certain they will have a record of previous owners, but very likely will not divulge that information. Peter

I think you can phone or e-mail the DVLA and get the car's history. Check out their website. http://www.hpicheck.com/ might give you some info too.
