Correct Lug Bolt Touque

Hi,
I've got a W123 with what looks like W124/W126 aftermarket wheels, the flat-faced kind. The Lug bolts are odd looking and about 3.5 inches long. I am going to take the wheels off to have them balanced (I trust NOBODY) and want to torque them properly when putting them back on the car. Whats the correct setting for this? I generally use 80 to 85 ft-lbs on wheel lugs.

Thanks for any info.

I always torque the lug bolts on my W124 to 80 ft. lbs. and so far this works for me. I know there is a way to determine recommended torque based on diameter of the bolts, but I haven't figured that out yet. Maybe someone else out there can chime in???

My W123 service manual says 110 Nm for all wheel types. But with aftermarket wheels, that number might not mean a thing. Trust me.

80 to 85 lbs-ft is correct.
