Transmission rebuild

Hi guys,

My 1990 300E (177,171 mi.) now takes about 5 - 7 seconds to engage reverse gear - which can be scary at times. (Seems to take longer when I am backing uphill). Shifts into first sometimes are harsher than they had been in past. I believe it may be time for rebuild. Fluid (Mobil 1 ATF) is good, fluid & filters (treans pan and torque converter) are changed on schedule.

I would prefer to get rebuild vice news trans. for cost reasons.

I have done most of the work on this car since I bought it, but I think trans will take me a very long time, if in fact, I could do it.

Sooo, the question of the day is: Does anyone have a recommendation for the best Mercedes transmission rebuild man in Atlanta (preferably North side of town) area?

Thx
