ignition coil packs early detection

Hi guys
Just want to know if there's any way to see or monitor if ignition coils or coil packs need to be replaced or not, before I actually get stalled.
I wonder if those OBD II scanners will be able to let me know before the part(s) actually break.
Thanks for your help.

The only help an OBDII scanner will be is to pinpoint a misfire cylinder after it has occured. This doesn't mean that the coil caused it or even that it is an ignition problem.

A proper scanner will give burn time and firing voltages which are a help in ignition diagnosis.
