The only specialty tool you'll really need is the Mercedes Valve Spring Compressor. Compressed air and a spark plug fitting are mandatory too. It's not too difficult (I was performing the valve stem seal changeout when I found the other problems necessitating the top end rebuild). Basically if you have the guts to tear into it, and the patience it's no sweat... Word to the wise, make a mandrel to seat the valve stem seals... a wood dowl hollowed out works well.
