Thank you Gilly

My window switches in the middle consol of a "99 430ML all of a sudden became depressed in unison when pushed. All the switches worked however, but my local dealer said I needed a new switch unit. But they were too busy to do it then and there. Come back next week. So I came home....went on search here on the shop forum. Lo and behold a thread by Gilly detailed how to take the unit out. In less than 10 minutes I had the unit out and saw that two snaps that attach the switches to the wood had broke.Maybe someone pushed too hard on the switches, or just metal fatigue from age. The snaps were on the underside of the wood so I am sure the dealer would have not only charged me for a new switch unit, but for a whole wood consol.Techs don't fix anything anymore, just replace. This would have been very expensive. But, all it took was 4 small screws to attach the switch unit to the wood and there it was... solid as new. Gilly's instructions were perfect, and I am sure I saved hundred's of dollars.
