Blower motor, 98 E-320

On my parents 1998 E-320, the heater blower motor will not come on. Neither heat nor AC. BOTH heat and AC will run occasionally...but not always.

Have checked fuse panel. OK. Next, loose wires? Bad Motor? Where is the blower motor, and how do I get to it?

If this helps...heater seems to work a little bit if it gets warm outside. Blows lightly, if that makes sense.

Can you change the blower speed at all?

The blower motor resistor may be the problem. There are several posts on this issue that might help you troubleshoot. It has an updated part, so if you need to replace you'll have to replace the blower motor with an updated part too ($$). It is accessible from underneath dash on the passenger side. The only hard part is lying on your back in the passenger-side foot well.
