ASR Hydraulic Pump 1998 c200
 

Hello,

Had a problem with ASR/ABS system:

The high pressure pump won't shut off - even when the car is off ! -
Had to disconnect the wires.

I get too error codes:

C1401 High Pressure Return Pump Circuit Open/Shorted; Will Not Shut Off.
C1305 RR Solenoid Hold Pressure.

Took the car in to the MB shop. They tested the whole ASR system and concluded that a solenoid switch inside the ASR hydralic pump unit is damaged and that it must be replaced (the whole unit that is).

Is that true?? or could the unit be repaired. A new one runs around $2500.
