Next week, I'm having the transmission and torque converter replaced on my '89 420SEL (245,000 miles). As long as the old tranny's going to be dropped and removed, what else should I have replaced while in there?
Flex discs and tranny mount come to mind, but I'd really appreciate the advice of more experienced members. (I'm not looking to waste money, but I don't imagine I'll ever again have the opportunity get this kind of maintenance work done so conveniently.) PS: I received the rebuilt transmission and torque converter from Ron at German Star yesterday. Really look amazing: everything's pristine! I'll report back once the transplant is completed...

Is the "rear main engine seal" another name for the "rear crankshaft seal," or are these different parts???
