1988 420SEL Headlight Washers Question

Where does the supply hose for the headlight washers connect to the washer bottle? My hose is dissconnected at the bottle and I can't find where to attach it back. Dosen't seem to be a nipple available on the pump either.

Sounds like the nipple on the pump broke off, it should be plainly visible.

Well, the windshield hose is connected. Does that mean there should be two connections at the pump motor? Wouldn't fluid spray out if the nipple was broken off? Can't find any diagrams of this connection even in shop manual.

2 pumps

There are 2 pumps, 1 for the windshield and 1 for the head lamps.

There are two pumps side by side on the reservoir, and the second one might have a broken nipple. It is very well possible that some one has plugged the second pump so the water will not leak. I know since I have done the same

Well that explains the extra connector on the top of the tank and the loose hose! I have only one pump! Guess one was removed! Gotta get one now...Thanks!!

rubber grommet

Each pump fits into a rubber grommet, which sits in the plastic tank. I recommend you also get a grommet, or two, when adding the missing pump.
