10 year battery ?
The panasonic usually will not recieve broadcast t.v. from other galaxys.
(legal disclaimer) I caught a partial view of a show which MAY have been on one of the Discovery channels over the recent holidays. (The host formerly had a part in the series "Cheers".) The venue was a battery manufacturing plant somewhere in the U.S. The company makes 10 year batteries. Has anyone else had the same halucination? If so what is the name of the manufacturer? |
IIRC, the first Miatas came with a ten year battery, course I could be mistaken :o

I believe the show is "Made in America" hosted by George Ratzenberger (Cliff Claven of Cheers).
Since I didn't see the show, I'm guessing, but it could be the Johnson Controls Optima battery, which uses technology different from conventional battery manufacture. It's a premium battery for a premium price ($150). BTW, the conventional battery in my 98 Ford ZX2 is still original. Seven years and 140K later, it's still doing its job. |
Any Rolls, or Surrette, or high quality golf cart battery, lead acid battery, will live ten+ years and have been known to go 15 and 20 years! And yes, they run upwards from $150....... BB

Even crappy batteries (think $40) usually come with a 96 month (8 years) or 84 month warrenty (7 years).

I wouldn't put too much stock on the warranties. Sometimes I believe these extended warranties are offered because the manufacturer hopes you cash in on the remaining pro rating of the original battery cost to buy a new one, hopefully when it's not on sale. Consumer Reports suggest putting more stock on the length of the free replacement period, which can be as high as three years for some batteries.
