Angry motorized window problem 420sel

I just replaced the old cracked wood centre console around the stick shift of my 420sel (1986).

Upon doing so, the motorized driver's window became sluggish going down. I took out one of the switches from the old console and replaced the "faulty" switch that was in the newer console and immediately it worked perfectly.

So, I put the whole thing back together again and everything worked beautifully. I went for a drive and parked. When i came back to the car, 2 hours later, it wasn't working at all again. I went back and plugged in 2 other spare, functioning switches and it still didn't work. All wires and plugs are secure and fuses are fine too.

Up until I changed the console, the window was working perfectly.
What's going on??????
