560sl power loss

Hello everyone!
I have a very strange problem, happens once every 2 days. While driving I get a loss of power.engine still runs, but very weak. While still in motion I pop the trans to N,rev it up a few times, when I do this the engine gets stronger, pop it back to D and I'm OK....episode lasts maybe 30sec.What do you guys think?
Regards Z

THROTTLE BODY AND THROTTLE BODY PLATE - dirty
get a rag , saturate with carb cleaner , clean the walls and the contact area of the flap (plate) and throttle body wall- usually this will be full of black gunk.. Replace air&fuel filters - if not done yet. Use 93 octane ALL THE TIME.
Hope this helps

What are the driving conditions this is occuring under. Does it occure just after slowing down. Is it possible your transmission is not downshifitng. You might want to try instead of shifting to N, just try a lower gear depending on speed.
