How to locate this wire? or any wire....W140.........
Hello all.......
Were are all the wires on the s420 1999. Trying to install a Fuzzbuster(radar) to the ignition power wire. But we can't seem to find any hanging around to tap into. How to access the panel under the steering wheel? Please and thank you......jason |

I'd recommend extreme caution if you're not pretty familiar with your W140's wiring and control systems. Your car has a CAN Bus and many of the wires are not simply power or ground. If you hook into something you believe to be simple power, and you're wrong, the additional resistance/impedence of the device your hooking up could damage some very expensive components.
Imagine that your car is similar to your personal computer... and you're sitting inside trying to figure out which leads are simply power and which are "signal". Would be a lot easier to simply slow down and leave the fuzzbuster on the shelf. ![]()

The lighter, or glovebox light are on a switched circuit.

that is where i tapped into, was the cigar lighter circuit! works great and is switched to the ignition, be careful not to arc it though, it is in the same circuit as the SRS warning system and will give it fault making your SRS light come on after blowing the fuse. Good luck!
