my water pump is leaking-help '94 C280

I found out today that my water pump on my 1994 c280 is leaking around the seal.

I have a great mechanic, who is honest, and decently priced at $65 an hour.

He says I can do it myself, but I have tried this stuff in the past and gotten into a mess. it seems there are special allen wrenches needed. He says it is not mentally difficult just very tricky to get to.

First question: How hard is replacing the water pump for a decent amature as myself?

2nd question: i am ordering a water pump from fastlane and they want to know what engine from the following 2 options:

-12-034966
-10-004058

Where can I find this engine info? I looked at the plate, the manual and can't determine which engine i have. I know I have the 104.941 engine.

any hellp is always greatly appreciated.
