300SEL fan getting detroyed

On recent inspection under the hood I noticed that the fan blade has been destroyed at the tips. Plastic broken off on some of the blades. Obviously it has rubbed something. I tried to wiggle the blade and notice a slight play on the pulley. Some suggestion on the issue.
